Lori, Age 54

Biker, Chef, Mom of 2, Cancer Survivor

The very first woman of 2022 to enter my studio was Lori. She signed up to be a part of my 40 Over 40 Experience - my goal to photography 40 women over age 40 in 2022 and celebrate women of all shapes, sizes, colours, backgrounds and more. I want women of all ages to be seen. To be heard.

We had an amazing day with Lori at the studio, capturing her in so many outfits and looks!

This is what Lori had to say about her session and experience.

I walked into the studio nervous and apprehensive and totally out of my comfort zone, Jordan got to work right away on my hair and makeup and I looked amazing! After a few shots and a sneak peek, I relaxed and enjoyed the experience! The energy in the studio combined with Bobbi-Jo and Jordan encouraging and hyping me up felt fantastic!

What are your thoughts on aging?

Pre breast cancer at 45, I hated the thought of getting older. I faced my mortality and had so many regrets of missed opportunities and a life of putting myself on the back burner every time. Now I make sure I do the things I want if I have the means and make the memories .

What advice would you give the 20 year old version of yourself, knowing what you know now?

Stop caring so much about what others think of you and be kinder to yourself. Pay attention in computer class and invest some money. Don’t buy things, spend the money on making memories
